FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How do I choose a chiropractor?

A great way to choose a chiropractor is to get a referral from a friend or family member, or you can choose one based on the reviews and testimonials of people who have been treated by the chiropractor before.

  • What type of education do chiropractors have?

Chiropractors (DC’s) are educated to be primary-contact health care providers. They emphasize on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions relating to the musculoskeletal system and the nerves that communicate to them. The educational requirements for chiropractors are just as strict as many other health care professions.

Even before entering chiropractic college, one needs to complete 4 years of pre-med undergraduate education.  Once in chiropractic college, there is another 4-5 years of education and training to go. Since chiropractors are highly skilled in manually adjusting their patients, a large portion of their education and training is spent perfecting the clinical techniques used in chiropractic care.

Including all curriculum necessary, chiropractors spend a minimum of 4,200 hours preparing to serve their patients.

  • Why is there a popping sound when a joint is adjusted?

Adjustment (or manipulation) of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The same thing occurs when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in gas bubbles being released. There is usually minimal, if any, discomfort involved.
